About Jeremy

I'm a UX designer and researcher who learned the most about users somewhere unexpected: the elevator industry.

I studied public health at The Ohio State University, which taught me to start with the people a system is supposed to serve. I then took graduate coursework in human-computer interaction at DePaul University, focused on UX research methods and research-centric design.

After that I went into the field. I coordinated construction projects, managed customer relationships, and worked where operations and technology meet, seeing up close what a clunky process costs the people stuck inside it. Today I work on the customer side of an elevator software company.

Qualitative Research

In-depth interviews and qualitative methods are where I start. I want the real workflow, not the one in the manual.

Prototyping

Sketches to high-fidelity prototypes, my favorite tools being Figma and Axure.

Operations & Customers

Coordinating construction projects and supporting customers taught me to design for constraints, deadlines and people who are short on time.

What I do when I'm not working

If you can't find me at my computer, I'm most likely outside – hiking, running, biking, surfing, and snowboarding. I do it all. I completed the Chicago Marathon in October 2022!

In addition, my passion for ideation and creation has followed me into my personal life. Other than designing, my hobbies include music production and cooking.
